Shark week hoo ha ha!
Whether "Finding Nemo" or "Jaws" comes to mind, Shark Week is one of the best weeks on television during the month of June. Starting June 26, you can finally sit back and binge watch hours of TV without feeling guilty about it! Why? Well this week of thrill only occurs once a year.
People are generally terrified of sharks, so why is this such a big deal? Why should you watch Shark Week? Hmmm.
Thanks to Discovery channel, you can watch and learn all about these mystical creatures of the deep blue. While swimming in the waters with them during your summer vacation may not be an ideal situation, watching them on TV in the comfort of your own home sounds great.
These animals are much more perplex and interesting than humans ever give them credit for. Watching Shark Week will inform you of all the various types of sharks. The professionals on these shows discuss everything from migration patterns to hunting strategies to mating.
Part of the reason so many people are afraid of sharks is due to the lack of information provided on them. Sharks are hands down one of the most intense creatures in the sea, but knowing about them is a large step to appreciating them.
The ocean is their world and their home. A person cannot expect to dominate an area that belongs to 16-foot sharks. The least we can do is learn about their lives.
Shark Week is also great because most of the shows focus on sharks, yet they also discuss other marine life such as killer whales and dolphins. Personally, animals in the deep blue have always fascinated me. Watching Shark Week is a way for me to be closer than ever to great white sharks and orcas.
So, when you're bored and cannot find anything else to do on a nice summer day, or if you just do not want to put pants on, sit down to enjoy some sharks. Go on. Watch some Shark Week all week on Discovery Channel.
