A is for Academics
We aren’t considered a premier Ivy for no reason. Binghamton University is ranked on Forbes list of America’s Top Colleges and considered the highest ranked state school in New York for Business, Nursing, and Engineering.
B is for Bartle
Oh, Bartle. The place we hate and love the most (mostly hate). The place we can never find seats during finals week, the place with jazzman’s, and the place where we get our shit together.
C is for Ceggs
Whether you're hungover or you're just in the mood for pancakes, hash browns, or a good breakfast sandwich....or croissantwich (you know it's the best thing on the menu), Cakes and Eggs will do the job.
D is for Decker
This can either be Decker Health Services or the Decker School of Nursing. Either way, both Decker’s mean something to us. One of your closest friends might be a Decker student, crying about how hard nursing is, or if you’re like me, you go to Health Services once a month from being sick from Bing weather.
E is for East Gym
Where you go to sweat your ass off and where you’ll see the same guy doing weights at 3 pm, doing weights again at 6 pm. People stay there for hours I'm convinced they sleep there.
F is for Fleishman Center
The good old Fleishman Center, where they actually care about us getting jobs in the future!!! The Fleishman Center blesses us students with resume writing workshops, mock interviews, hundreds of job and internship opportunities, and all the networking in the world.
G is for Greek life
It’s huge when you’re actually in it, but you don’t notice a difference when you aren’t in it. That’s one of the things I love about Greek life at Bing; you have fun either way. Our Greek life is pretty underrated and it’s one of the best attributes of our campus in my opinion. Go Greek!!
H is for Harper
My college!!! Harper College is the School of Arts and Sciences where you can find a variety of different majors that apply to different areas of the Liberal Arts field. I'm lucky to be a Philosophy, Politics, and Law student and feel fortunate to be provided with so many resources that are preparing me for a future in law.
I is for Insomnia Cookies
The best thing in UP EASILY. Want hot fresh warm cookies at 3 am?? Call Insomnia. Freshman year this ruined me…(it still does).
J is for JTs
FRESHMAN BAR!!!! JTs will always be one of our favorite parts of Binghamton. Whether it’s dollar pitchers or fishbowl Friday’s, you know you’ll have an amazing night that you won’t remember.
K is for Kosher
Surprise!!!! We have a HUGE Jewish population at Bing so we have a ton of Kosher food options on campus.
L is for Lost Dog Café
The famous rigatoni ala vodka from Lost Dog is everyone’s favorite pasta dish. If you haven't tried yet, now you know where you’re going for dinner this weekend!
M is for Marketplace
Everyone goes into Marketplace once a day, whether it’s to walk through to get to class, get a package, go to the bookstore, or to get food obviously. Salad toss and Chicken N’ Bap always have the longest lines and the smoothies at Red Mango always hit the spot.
N is for Nowl
Why is it that drunk you can’t resist Nowl? It’s like our bodies are programmed to tell the cab driver to drop us off at C4 after a long night on state street and eat mottz sticks, fries, AND mac n’ cheese bites (It can be done, people).
O is for O.C.C Transport
We students would be nowhere without these buses. The busses that take us to Target, Walmart, UP, and even our very own state street every single weekend.
P is for Parade Day
Or should I say one of the best days of the year?? It's literally Saint Patrick’s Day on steroids. Frat hopping to bar hopping, you’ll be partying with your friends from 8 in the morning until 12 in the morning.
Q is for Quality Student Life
From the people that I've met here, to the extensive list of clubs, resources, and opportunities I've been able to experience and be apart of, the amazing course selection, the nightlife, and overall experience of being a student at Binghamton is really incomparable to anywhere else.
R is for the Rat
We love to love the Rathskellar. Going to the Rat always guarantees you a fun night and when you have visitors you know this is the place to go to show them how Binghamton students do it.
S is for State Street
EVERY weekend and even during the weekdays, State Street is packed with Binghamton students jumping from JT's, the Rat, and Tom's, grabbing a slice or 3 from Pasquale's, and meeting up after mixer's at Frats to continue a night of fun.
T is for Tully’s
"Hi, how ya doin?" If you go to Bing, know exactly what I'm talking about....BUT on a serious note have you had their lemonade??? 10/10 recommend.
U is for the Union
The union is the hub for everything on campus. This is where the Marketplace, Bookstore, and the Fleishman Center are located. Whether you're walking through to get food, go to chapter for your sorority or fraternity, or meet up with friends, you walk into the Union at least 10 times a day.
W is for Watson
Our prestigious engineering school. One of the hardest to get into, and the hardest to stay in...
X is for Ted “X”
Y is for Yummy food
Z is for Zipping up for winter
The winters here are as bad as they seem, but that doesn't stop us from having fun. Catch us on state street in 15-degree weather, walking to lecture hall bundled up in scarves and hats, and sledding in Mountainview or Newing when it snows.
