We are always on social media, whether it means to see what people are up to or to look at your friend’s page. Social media has changed the way we live today. But what’s concerning is that social media can misrepresent who we are as people. Now, I know social media has become the number one resource to connect with others, but, this is why I think social media is a negative thing. Have you tried to dress up one day just to post this particular picture on Instagram, but in reality you go and change back to less “fashionable” clothes? The question that should be asked here: is this just for the likes? Did you just post this to impress people with your #amazing life? Social media allows us to show our uniqueness and express ourselves, which is the reason why I truly love social media. But when you rearrange your desk just for Instagram, that’s a little concerning to me. We all have been victims of it before, so ask yourself, why do it on Instagram?
Now, go to your Instagram account and take a close look at your photos that are posted on Instagram. Do they represent who you truly are? And believe me when I say this, we are all guilty of doing this. However, I want to remind people that pretending to be someone else or to post pictures just for the likes is not how we should use social media.
