In order to survive in the real world, you have to endure so much as a person. The real world is no joke and only the strong survive. Coming out of high school is the first step into the real world. Graduates have accomplished four years of schooling that will help and guide them into the college life or the work force. In the real world, anything can happen. The way you push yourself in high school and college will help you deal with real life situations that will come across your path.

Some kids have to start early when it comes to establishing yourself. In my experience, I had a part time job in high school of my senior year. I stayed focused my first three years, so I was able to get early release from school. After school, I would get ready for work and go right there. Working part time and going to school was a lot to handle alone. I worked nights during the week while I also had to complete homework assignments and study for exams. Not only did I work and go to school at the same time, but I also had to help my mom with my siblings. I would do house chores and help them with homework because my mom had to work. Because of that, I have a little experience with paying bills and keeping food in the house for my family.

Now that I’m in my last year of college, I’m finally figuring out the next step in my life. I will be graduating in another year and I want to be able to have my own apartment. I want to have a good paying job to help me establish myself financially and work toward a retirement plan for when that time comes. It’s hard to manage so many different things at one time. The real world can be a very dark and evil place, so I want to be able to recognize real from fake if someone is trying to take advantage of me. Nowadays, you have to watch out for your family as well.

In order to survive and make it in the real world, it all starts with how you grow up and the way you carry yourself as a person. Nothing is handed to you, you have to earn everything and work hard for what you want. You have to have discipline for yourself and respect for those around you. You have to work and motivate yourself. It’s the best thing to associate yourself with people that are trying to do the same thing and help you to push yourself. You can’t get anywhere in life if you have others holding you down from accomplishing your goals. The real world means trying to make it on your own and learning to survive the best way you can.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
