Another week, another article.

Another week, another article. It's not as easy as it seems. I've been mulling over in my mind all week about what I was going to write today and I came up with nothing. Nada. Zilch. So, I thought to myself, "Well, what am I struggling with this week? What's something that's really been grinding my gears?" An answer immediately popped into my head: "Well, coming up with an article idea, for one." So, you know what? That's what I'm going to write about today. The process of writing an article for the Odyssey.

1. When you realize it's Wednesday (aka deadline day) and you haven't even thought about your article yet.

2. ...And you have no idea what to write about (*cough cough* me).

3. So you ask your friends for some ideas.

4. But they don't have any ideas either

5. Deadline's coming up in just a few hours, so you just stare at the blank screen on Muse and pray for God to strike you with inspiration.

6. An idea does hit you then. What if I'm just super meta and write an article about writing an article? I could even talk about coming up this idea in my article about writing an article.

7. So then you write that article.

8. And then you realize you get to do it all over again next week.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
