For each one of us, no matter our age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or whatever defining characteristic makes us different, "thank you" is always the same. It is a simple gesture that can have a tremendous impact on your relationships with others, as well as your frame of mind on life. When I was little, I was always taught the simple manners of using the terms m'am and sir, as well as saying please and thank you; it was just the customary language of conversing with one another. There is so much meaning behind the two words, thank you. Saying these two words is something we were all taught to do as children, but not until we are older do we really appreciate everything that has been given to us. I am at a point in my life that I am learning to act fearlessly and stand confidently, with knowing who I am and the paths that I want to pursue. I am learning what it means to be truly thankful. I am so thankful for my life, for all of the opportunities I've had thus far, the places I've traveled, and the people I've met along the way who have inspired me throughout my endeavors. I am truly happy and grateful for everything that has helped me grow over the years. I am eager for the next chapter of my life and beyond blessed to have had yet another day.
"A good life is when you smile often, dream big, laugh a lot and realize how blessed you are for what you have."
