First I’d like to say thank you. Thank you for all of the memories, the laughs, the times we stayed up late at night talking about everything under the sun. Thank you for being there for me when I got my heart broken, and for letting me be there for you. Thank you for being the first person I wanted to tell good news to and the person I felt like I could trust with anything.
I don’t think I will ever understand why we stopped talking. We talked every day for hours, but maybe we both got busy and life got in the way. I remember feeling hurt that you stopped checking in with me, but knowing that it was because we were growing apart from each other.
I will never forget how we met, or the last things you said to me the last time we were together. I read somewhere that you might not remember the things people said, but you will remember the way that they made you feel, and for a while you made me feel so happy. I saw you grow so much in a year, and I knew you were struggling with a lot of things, but you taught me to carry on and be strong and I am grateful for that example you gave me.
Even if the time I got to know you was short, my life would not be the same if you hadn’t been there in the time that you were. In a year, you changed the way I look at the world and even helped me find myself.
I think I'm starting to realize that not all friendships are meant to last forever. Each of us is changing every day and sometimes our friendships can't keep up with that change.
I truly believe that God put you in my path for a reason, because no two souls come together without a purpose. Maybe we won't ever know what our purpose was, but I hope that I was able to make your life better.
If we never talk again, I want you to know that you have so much potential and I know that you have an incredible life ahead of you, even if I wont be along for the ride.
