When I tell people I live alone, most tend to look at me like I'm crazy. I get questions like "Do you like feeling alone all the time?" or "Aren't you scared alone at night?" I understand that point, but I also love living alone. When I get home from being at work and school all day, sometimes it's nice to have my own space.
Living alone is a great learning experience. And don't forget, you can still see your friends all the time! These are just a few of the perks I have learned to love since starting to live on my own.
1. Privacy
No one touches your stuff, no one is taking up your time, and you don't have to wear any clothes if you don't want to.
2. Freedom
Never wait to use the bathroom, the kitchen, or the T.V. whenever you want to.
3. No judgement
Never again worry about leaving your clothes on the bathroom floor, drinking straight out of the carton, or laying around watching movies all day.
4. Visitors whenever you want
You can invite people over whenever you feel like it without having to worry about disturbing a roommate.
5. A bathroom all to yourself
I love having my own bathroom. Not having to share a shower or a mirror with other people is the best thing ever.
6. No one will steal your food
Your food is all yours now. ENJOY IT!
7. I only clean when you feel like it
Who wants to clean up after themselves every single day?
8. Peace and quiet whenever you need it
When there is someone else coming in and out of your living space whenever they want, you can't always get the quiet time that you need.
9. 1 a.m. delivery orders
I get late night cravings. Most people do. Now you don't have to worry about waking your roommate when you order pizza at 1 a.m.
10. Decorate however you want
Who doesn't want their apartment to look exactly how they would like it?
11. You learn how to adult
With no one else living with you, you learn to take care of everything yourself.
12. When you need company, it is only a phone call away
Just because you live alone doesn't mean your friends and family won't always be there for you.
