Ah, a perfect day off. Just thinking about one brings me peace and makes me wish tomorrow wasn't Monday. Whether it be the weekend, a day off of school and work, or a holiday, everyone has their idea of a perfect day off to themselves. Some weekends we're extremely busy or need to take our day off to handle our priorities. However, there are those days where you can experience your own day off just the way you like it, with no cares in the world. Last month, I had some stress-free days because of all the snow we had. This is how I spent my day:
I woke up early to an email from school canceling class, which was one of the best emails I had received in a long time. I quickly went back to sleep and slept in. Waking up after that felt so refreshing. After washing my face and brushing my teeth, I had to have a great meal to start my great day, so down to the dining hall I went to treat myself to great tasting food (lol).
I then went back to my dorm and cuddled up in my warm bed catching up on my favorite shows (obsessed with Dance Moms, Teen Mom 2 and The Fosters). I love doing this on my day off because it makes me feel like I'm not taking any time away from doing more important things. My roommate was also in bed all day, and I played my favorite Spotify playlist and we jammed out.
After spending half of the day in bed, I decided to actually use my time and be productive. I caught up on homework and my readings, cleaned up my desk and showered. Yay productivity!!
I then spent the last hours of my day off just the way it started...in bed. Scrolling through social media, hanging with my roommates, and just enjoying the comfy cozy feeling of being able to be in bed with nothing to worry about all day. When you think about it, we all need these days to ourselves. They keep us calm, content and collected. Spend your days off as you wish, customized to what makes you feel good. Some people spend their days off at the gym all day or out and about their town or city, and that's great! Personally, I love to stay in and relax in the comfort of my own bed. It all depends on your personal preference.
What is your idea of the perfect day off?
