The Parties We All Love, Yet Rarely Remember

College is the time to let loose and have fun (and get a degree and good grades blah blah blah). Knowing where to go and who is having what party are important parts of the social aspect of college. But it doesn't stop there, if the party has a theme or a bring your own type of deal it helps to know. Regardless on the type of party the goal is to have fun. Here are parties every college student has been to/heard of.

ABC party: ABC meaning anything but clothes. This one requires getting creative trying to turn a trash bag into a dress, or caution tape into an outfit. Pinterest might be your savior on this one.

Bottle Buddies: bottle buddies are either done with another Greek organization or within the sorority/fraternity/team. Each duo has a bottle and the goal is to finish it. It is a good way to bond within the organization or make friends with another.

Date Party: Everyone brings a date and plays games. Usually date parties are formal, but some are themed (a popular one is around the world) Most people don't remember date party. Being invited to a date party is an honor, out of all the people that person picked you to blackout with!

Homecoming: From my own experience homecoming isn't a one-day ordeal. Homecoming is the whole week leading up to the football game. Mixers and opens, kegs and eggs the morning of, and most importantly the tailgate which at our school is the main event (sorry football) and most don't end up making it to the game.

Day Drink: Day drinking is no foreign event for a college student. The first sign of nice days after winter and guaranteed someone will have a keg in their yard and people scattered with red solos in hand. Usually yard games are big at day drinks which is always fun; aka volleyball, slip and flip, flip cup, etc. Usually a power nap or puke and rally follows the day drink.

Snow Day: Who doesn't love a good snow day? Snow days in college are prime time for drinking. As soon as the "university is closed today" email gets sent out chances are there is a party already in the planning stages. Like elementary school when everyone would go sledding during snow days, except now "sledding" is drinking with friends.

Frat Basement Parties: This is a staple of college. Even just reading "Frat Basement" you can picture it, the smell of stale natty, sweat, pools of beer on the floor, and regrets being made in every corner. Its always a good time though. Sometimes accompanied by the "Who do you know here?"

Sport House Parties: Kinda like frat parties but usually less gross environment, and smaller. Due to not being involved with the Greeks, sports usually have less rules. Plus after a win they are always down to rage, no judgement no worries. Sadly they are usually busted pretty early in the night.

Pregame: The start of all parties whether you know it or not. Most times no one goes to a party sober, so there is always a pregame. Certain nights the pregame may turn into the party because participants go to hard at the start and can't hang.

Impromptu Banger: Thrown together at the last second isn't always a bad thing. Especially when its all friends just deciding hey lets have a party. Sometime its good not to know what's going on until the last minute.

Late Night: Some of the best stories, whether you remember or a friend tells you, come from the late night. Late night is basically after the frats and sororities are done with their mixers and everyone is already feelin it.

Drink Responsibly & Make good choices.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
