Oh Earth. Oh beautiful, majestic Earth. Your beauty and ability to create and give to different forms of life is truly astonishing. Your scenery is beyond words and every look is breath taking... But let's get real, though most appreciate the wonderful backgrounds and natural lighting, a lot of people are not made for camping outdoors. Here is a list for you non-outdoorsy people in order to survive the next camping trip...
1. PRAY FOR YOUR LIFE: First things first, there is nothing in the world that will make you automatically become and outdoorsy person, so you best pray for a miracle in order to make it through that trip in one piece!
2. TECHNOLOGY, THAT'S THE ERA: No matter how far off into the wilderness you go, there is some kind of signal somewhere! You cannot go anywhere without a cellphone in case of an emergency... Or you so happened to have not checked the weather, and you didn't pack for that big ol' climate change.
3. OVER-PACK EVERYTHING: If you know you're going camping for three days... Pack for five days. Things come up, and before you know it you are out of supplies, clothes, blankets, food, etc! Don't worry if your bag weighs fifty pounds, you know you're covered!
4. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED: A lot of people have watched "Grey's Anatomy," so be like Grey's and pack the LARGEST First Aid Kit you can find and take it! It may seem ridiculous, but you never know what could happen! Better if someone bad 2,000 bandaids than no bandaids!
5. PREPARE TO LOOK LIKE A HOT MESS: Do not bring matching outfits and name brand things, because they are going to get DESTROYED. Do not bring your makeup or your perfume/cologne, because regardless you're going to "get ugly" and you're gonna smell!
6. BE FEARLESS, NOT FEARFUL: If you are afraid of the wilderness and what is in it (bugs, animals, plants, etc.) then why are you going? Suck it up, put on your big boy/girl pants and take it like a man/woman! Don't "ew" or "gross" or "yuck" at everything, because you are going to make your time even worse.
7. THREE B's, BRUISES, BLISTERS, & BUMPS: You're going to be walking for a long time, hitting things, things hitting you, and you're going to look like you've just been jumped; however, those battle scars are yours to own to show you overcame something many can't say they have!
Camping isn't for everyone — heck, it isn't even for me that much. Although it's tough, it's so worth it because you see sights you wouldn't see normally. You conquer quests that you never thought could be conquered, and it's so worth it! Shout out to the non-outdoorsy people who are willing to try something out of their comfort zones! For those of you who haven't tried, here is your guide to surviving the outdoors
