Last week, the final Presidential Debate took place at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and to call it a clown fest is an understatement. What caught my attention, and what should catch yours is at the very end, when moderator Chris Wallace asked the question, "Will you absolutely accept the result of this election?"
Trump refused to respond. Correct me if I'm wrong, but his response was, "I'll look at it at the time." So Mr. Trump, are you saying that you will or will not concede if you lose this election? It's a simple question. Stop mentioning how dishonest the media is, and how they are rigging this election in favor of Hillary Clinton. You said the media is "poisoning" the mind of voters, but just how are they doing that, Mr. Trump? I can understand how Hillary's commercial advertising are attacking you, but aren't you doing the exact same thing? Whenever you were asked a question of your policies, you repeatedly said how Secretary Clinton is so corrupt and how she has done nothing but ruin America.
The fact that campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway walked out on CNN Reporter Dana Bash also says volumes about his campaign. Conway also mentioned how the election was "rigged" by the media, but how is it? All Chris asked was a simple question, but what was frightening was how Trump not only refused to answer it, but ignored it and replied, "I'll keep you in suspense." Conway's only responses in the interview was, "He will accept it when he wins." There is no telling who will win or lose this election until November 8, 2016.
If Donald Trump does not concede to the election results if he loses, he is telling America two things: 1) He was never really serious about running for President of the United States, and 2) He doesn't care about the American people. Last year, everyone was shocked to learn Mr. Trump was running as a candidate for President. People including myself were thinking finally someone who is not a politician, but a businessman is running, maybe it will be different. His campaign slogan has been "Make America Great Again" from the beginning of his campaign. I thought America was always good? Not great, but good. Although our country is in a bad place, I am still proud to be an American. At least we don't have laws that state that homosexuality is punishable by death in Iraq, or how women are not allowed to have an education like in India. If Mr. Trump is really serious about running, why has he incessantly belittled women and accused Latinos of being rapists, as well as the African American race to be uneducated?
Election Day is when Americans come together in this country and vote for whom they feel is the better candidate for the job as Commander-In-Chief. If Donald Trump loses the election, and he does not accept the results, he will show Americans that he only campaigned for the good of himself, and not the good of the country. As Americans, we are obligated to abide by the law of the land as stated in Article VI of the Constitution.
