As of January 29th, the lovely and amazing J.K. Rowling has released her new Pottermore Sorting Hat Quiz. With a quiz from the writer of the serious, fans are promised to get the most accurate results yet. Eagerly answering the questions to find out which house you belong to, be it the brave Gryffindors, the loyal Hufflepuffs, the cunning Slytherins, or the wit of the Ravenclaws. All are welcome to take the quiz and there is a lovely back story to go with each house, telling you of the more famously known wizards and witches from one's house, as well as someone you might not have been aware was a part of your house!
For some who have already taken the quiz from the previous Sorting Hat set up, you do have the option if you so desire to just reclaim your house without having to take the quiz. Or if you are one of those who always likes to test the new quiz and see if it can sort you correctly (those who have always gotten the same house no matter which quiz they take), you are more than welcome to explore the new questions set out to make it so you can’t just figure, "oh snake must be for Slytherin I won’t click that." Each of the questions has been designed more upon your thoughts and personality that the basic idea of what each house represents. And of course, those who have never taken the test, those eager first years should step on up to the hat as they nervously await their sorting. There are also many articles out there talking about the positive to each of the houses after you have been sorted that are there for you to read. Don’t think that just because you were not sorted into a famous house that you thought you would be sorted into, the house you were sorted into follows the stereotypes set out for it! Explore your house, enjoy your friends from all the houses, there is nothing wrong with being friends outside of your house.
Another fixed up feature of Pottermore is your trip to Ollivander's, the wand shop, about which said Hagrid, "there is no greater place." With several questions about your height and hair color, too, and if you turn left or right at a fork in the road. You will find out the wood, core, length and flexibility of your wand. You will also find out just what each of those facts means about the wand and the history to go with it. Who knows just what your wand will have to say about you.
Pottermore has been a place for J.K. Rowling to add new stories and give us the fans, even more, information into the wizarding world. They offer lots of different information that has been unknown to us for years, but thankfully we will soon find out all about it. For instance, we now have writings on the different Wizarding Schools around the world, not just Hogwarts, Durmstrang Institute, and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. I will not spoil the new schools and where they are located, and will leave that up to you all the curious Harry Potter fans.
So with that being said, enjoy this new Pottermore, and explore the wonderful world so many of us have grown up with and fallen in love with, and that hopefully many more curious minds will as well.
