The Pressure Kids are not a band full ofkids under a surmounting amount of pressure. Instead they are exceedingly talented group that has been together for the past three years pushing the limits of their abilities.

The band started with Nick Johnston, a musician from Seattle who came to Belmont University in hopes of starting his career in music. When he got to Belmont University, he found that the first weeks of school brings musicians together. Freshman typically sit around the historic fountain at Belmont, and play their favorite songs together, which is something that Nick did.

People would knock on Nick's door to stop in and play music with him. Sometimes the entire floor would have stopped in his room to play in a night. Nick started up draw up some goals for his time at Belmont. One of those goals was to start a band. He was looking for diversity, fun, and continuous excitement from every member.

Nick's mission was fulfilled with each addition to the band including Allan Cuva (Guitarist), Zach Bodman (Drummer), Katy Carmichael (Keys), and Justin Bavier (Bass). Everyone had their own perspectives in their journey in music before joining the band, which is what created the diversity within the band.

The Pressure Kids developed into something more than anticipated, a full fledged rock band. They came out with their album Tiger, which has been the golden key to the many events that have occurred since from playing at Nashville's Exit/In to playing in New York City.

The goals achieved by the band was fueled by the positive outlook that was emphasized as an important tip to success. "Have fun no matter what" says band members Nick and Allan.

Being unique with intention is a bi-product of continuous innovation, hours spent practicing, and being up to overcome some of the hardships that most bands do, such as lineup changes. Nick says, "The pressure was the sum of its holes" in reference to overcoming adversity.

A new red brick wall is approaching for each band member with the word graduation spray painted on it. The Pressure Kids do not know what waits behind this wall, but they have set goals for themselves after they graduate. The purpose is to stay together as the amazing band that they are with more recording sessions, and a possible album in the future to come.

In conclusion, The Pressure Kids have a sound unrivaled by up-and-coming rock bands. They have more spirit and desire to succeed that the ultimate goal awaits them as they create more music. Take note, this is only the beginning of something amazing.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
