My day begins when my alarm rings obnoxiously.
What gets me out of bed? Breakfast time! My schedule is different every day, so sometimes I am running out the door right after I get up, and other times I have the whole morning to myself. Either way, I try to get a good breakfast in my system.
I love breakfast food for so many reasons. For one, there are so many options: from healthy egg whites and oatmeal to pancakes and french toast. I can be really healthy or treat myself early in the morning.
And don't even get me started on brunch! I would rather go on a date to a nice brunch than a fancy dinner. You can get chocolate milk and pancakes--what a win! It is especially great after a night out with friends. What do you need most after a late night? A GOOD BALANCED BREAKFAST.
Breakfast saves lives.
Not only that, but it is really important to fuel your body early in the morning. According to Web MD, eating breakfast can help with weight control and performance throughout the day. If you are trying to lose weight, skipping a meal (especially breakfast) just isn't the answer.
When I wake up and make myself eggs and toast, I just feel like my life is 10x more together. Is it actually? Absolutely not, but it makes me feel ready for the day. With a good breakfast in my system I take on all of my tasks in full force. How do you think Leslie Knope is so peppy throughout Parks and Rec? It is her love for breakfast food!
Let's not forget about Brinner! If you aren't familiar with the term, let me help. From Urban Dictionary: (brin-ner) adj. breakfast eaten at the time in which you eat dinner. What a delicacy.
If you can't tell, I just really love breakfast food, and I know there are others just like me.
Also, coffee goes along with breakfast, and what a great gift that has been to the world. Coffee is obviously drank throughout the day, but relaxing and having a nice cup of coffee in the morning is one of the simple pleasures in life. I don't have the time to sit back and enjoy a good balanced breakfast everyday like I wish I could, but the days I do I am especially grateful.
This just goes along with taking care of yourself. It is important to take a breather in the morning and get yourself ready for a long day ahead. If you know you won't be able to sit down for the rest of the day, try to wake up a little earlier to give yourself time to sit and eat your breakfast. I promise it's worth it.
