There is no season quite like summer. All of a sudden, there are over three months to do whatever you please. Even when sunsets come sooner and nights get colder, the best keepsakes of summer are the countless memories.
Reality is harsh. The older we get, the more we understand. However, with no classes, all we have to worry about is a summer job, and usually they aren't so bad. Sometimes, it's even better to spend a few hours at work with your friends and get paid than to sit in a boring class.
When we're not at work, the possibilities are endless. Tanning and swimming in the ocean during the day with no worries, then before you know it, you're laying next to your best friend having a deep conversation about the meaning of life...and then you realize it's two a.m. The hours seem to fly by this time of year.
Summer makes you realize that there is way more to life than your GPA and the amount of money you have in your bank account. Going on little adventures with your friends makes time stop, even if just for a little while. Summer makes you feel infinite, no matter what age you are. Travel! Rekindle that friendship with that person from high school! Go skydiving! I'm going to throw in a quote I read during my senior year of high school that changed my perspective on life:
"You are not the number of A's you get in school, nor the number of 0's you have in your bank account after you finished school. Instead, you are the number of ticks you checked off your bucket list and the number of smiles you impacted on others while doing the things you like."
Summer is about forming beautiful memories, because even when life changes, those will always remain.
