The Many Guys of Grey's

What can be a better study break than appreciating fictional men who have the whole package?

Grey's Anatomy

If you've never seen Grey's Anatomy, you either live under a rock or you don't like dramatic TV shows. Either way, you can't argue that this show is 13 seasons of people dying, falling in and out of love, and lots of drama. There are plenty of relationships, friendships, scandals, and every emotion possible developing within the characters. The other thing that Grey's has plenty of is hot guys. Literally every one of the main dudes is über attractive.

Now, as we dance around the first round of tests this lovely fall semester, I was thinking of making a compilation of the guys of Grey's. What can be a better study break than appreciating fictional men who have the whole package?

1. Derek Shepherd

McDreamy is beautiful. You can't deny it. He's got the perfect look for a young, rich neurosurgeon. Honestly, Meredith and Derek have a hot mess of a relationship, but you can't help but root for them through the entire series. Did I mention he has perfect hair?

2. Preston Burke

While Meredith and Derek are falling in love, so are Christina and Burke. He doesn't stay in the show as long as the rest of the original characters, but boy is he a good looking one. My favorite part about him is that he remains pretty calm, cool, and collected through all of the crazy.

3. Alex Karev

Alex starts out as kind of a jerk. He has a hard outer shell and doesn't really let anyone in. He finds himself in the on-call room with a few different ladies, but eventually he decides to cool it. Luckily for all of us, throughout the series he opens up and he end up being one of my favorite characters. Gotta love a guy who's good with kids. Not to mention, he's got an adorable smile.

4. Jackson Avery

Oh, Avery and those piercing eyes. The other characters pick on him for "flirting" all the time because of his gorgeous gaze. Honestly, I'm not sure if I ever wanted Jackson and April to work, but I know I wanted to see more scenes of him shirtless.

5. Mark Sloan

McSteamy. Yes, yes he is quite steamy. Perfectly chiseled face, tall, handsome, witty, serious, caring, and a little bit of a womanizer. I wish he and Lexie would have figured their shit out before the plane crash, but I guess that's part of the drama of the show.

6. Owen Hunt

Owen comes into the show with a lot of problems from being in the military. As the show goes on, you learn more and more about him and his demons. He is so intense all the time, and he is so fine all the time. You can't help but love him because everything he does, is filled with so much intensity and passion.

7. Nathan Riggs

Nathan comes into the show and Owen Hunt is automatically thrown for a loop. Clearly Hunt doesn't like this guy for a reason that is later unveiled. I, however, love him being on the show. He was with April overseas and gives her some peace through her fighting with Jackson. Did I mention he's great to look at?

8. Andrew DeLuca

So this guy is gorgeous. None of the doctors think he is an intern when he comes in with a patient, but he quickly finds himself with an attending as a girlfriend, and quickly finds himself without one. I don't know about y'all, but I'll be his girlfriend.

Okay, study break is over y'all. See more of these guys on Grey's!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
