Everyone always asks me why I go to so many concerts. Well, music has been a huge part of my life since I was in the seventh grade. It is my happy place. This is when I discovered my favorite band and started going to concerts (thanks to my mom). She would stand in the back while I was in the crowd.
Ever since my first concert, I was hooked. It lets me escape my problems for a few hours and everything is good. I have a group of friends who I primarily go to concert with, two of who are my sisters.
We all have a favorite band called The Maine. The last concert we went to of theirs was in September. We drove all the way to Niagara Falls but it was way worth it. The Maine went on a “Free For All Tour.” They didn’t charge their fans a single dollar to come out and enjoy the night. I can’t think of another band who would do this and that's just another reason why I enjoy them so much.
I can’t explain the feeling I get when I see them live. It is different every time but better each time. I have seen them over 20 times and it will never get old to me.
Last October, I went to Chicago for my birthday and saw them at The Bottom Lounge. This was probably the best concert I had ever been to. The tour was called “Farewell Forever Halloween” promoting their new album "Forever Halloween." My sister painted our faces with skulls just like the cover of their album.
Their music is like nothing else to me. I love all types of music and I go to many concerts but nothing is quite as great as The Maine to me. I hope they continue to make music and tour for as long as they can.
