High school is a constant struggle of balancing school work and having fun and just relaxing. So after years of one clinical anecdotal study, there has finally been an objective method for the lazy person to not only pass their classes but stand out. It has been boiled down to five points. Follow each of these steps without hesitation and you will succeed in school and later in life.
1. Stop feeling guilty about your laziness.
That's right, embrace your apathy. Claim it. Use it. The biggest mistake a lazy student can make is to try to work harder. This creates all sorts of problems; it can serve to increase anxiety as you start to realize you can't concentrate and you will end up forgetting more information than you retain. This may sound ridiculous and like a joke, but this has been proven in one entirely reliable and entirely encompassing piece of anecdotal evidence (yours truly). Do not try to be better than you are or you will end up being worse. Simple fact.
2. Become slightly apathetic.
Alright, I'm not saying completely stop caring because then you obviously won't get those good grades. Also, in regard to that quote ^, that interpretation of Greek is actually a common mistake. What Aristotle actually said was "Tolerance and Apathy are the saving virtues of a dying society". This is a more a step in accepting procrastination. You need to revise your procrastination methods. Unless it is something that will take a lot of effort, wait until the day of. This relieves a lot of stress the day you receive homework because you will not spend very much time doing school work that night. The most common lazy student waits until late during the night but this is a rookie mistake. Get sleep and do it early in the morning. Be smart with it. The slight increase in apathy is for two things. Mainly so you can go to bed not worrying about the homework. But also so you don't freak out while finishing work in the morning. This will take time. Do not jump into this method immediately.
3. Make a very good impression with your teachers early on.
This one is self-explanatory. I can't even count how many times I've gotten away with missing homework because my teachers trusted I did it. After about three weeks of consistent participation in class and excessive effort on assignments, your teacher will have faith in you. You will ditch all their hopes and do almost nothing but you will get away with it for the rest of the year. Start off strong and the rest of the year will be a piece of cake. (It is also helpful sometimes to reiterate your "passion" for learning to your teachers every now and then to make sure they don't get suspicious)
4. Seem intelligent.
It's less hard than it sounds to manipulate the people around you into thinking you're smarter than you are. Just speak with some less colloquial words and articulate. If you do this, it doesn't matter what you're saying. Your teacher will assume you're bright and your classmates will too. This means the teacher will like you (always good) and there is a greater chance the smart kids will choose to work with you on group projects.
5. Do some extracurricular activities.
This allows you to convince yourself you didn't have time for your homework or studying. Manipulate yourself. This last step cements the process by which you have slowly undergone without knowing. After all this you will no longer actually be lazy. You will be efficient. There is a slight** chance this process will make you fail every single class, but only a slight** chance.
