Over the years, I’ve been to at least thirteen concerts, if not more (in all honesty, I can’t remember all of them. There’s been too many). But let me say, each one is its own special occasion. Its own magical experience.
Music in of itself is something that every day is life changing. I don’t know how many people I’ve talked to that have told me that this artist or that band has saved their life. Music helps people connect on a deeper level. Music helps you to realize that you’re not alone in the world. That there is someone, somewhere out there, who feels the same way that you do. That experiences the troubles and the strife that you do.
Music brings people all over the world together with a common interest or love. Music helps us express ourselves in ways that we don’t know how to do ourselves because sometimes we can’t think of the right words.
When you find a band whose songs you connect with the best, it’s one of the biggest reliefs out there. And when you finally get to see them live and in person, instead of on some screen. I can’t even begin to describe how that feels.
People get made fun of all the time for crying at concerts or other band and music related things. And that always upsets me. Because people get emotional. This music could’ve saved that persons life at one point or another. If that was me, you can be sure that I’d definitely be crying at the concert; no doubt about it.
The atmosphere of a concert is something that cannot be replicated. Even if you see the same band again. Each live show or concert is going to have its own vibe and its own atmosphere. And everyone at the concert is going to experience it differently.
This last week I saw Twenty One Pilots at the WaMu Theater in Seattle. And let me tell you; they are one of the most real and raw bands I’ve seen in a while. Now most everyone has heard of Ride or Tear In My Heart, and those are good songs. But they have so many songs that just will absolutely blow your mind. They are one of the bands that I think I’ve seen people connect with the best. Because they struggle, and they write about their struggles. They have the same kinds of struggles as you or me. They’re human, just like the rest of us. And they write about how human they are. Their show absolutely blew my mind, and I hope everyone gets a chance to see them live. They put all they have into each of their shows and I applaud them for that.
They amount of people who have had their lives changed by this artist or that band will absolutely blow your mind. Music is changing people all over the world. It’s inspiring people to make their voices heard. To not be stepped on. To think that they matter too. And what’s more important than that?
In my opinion, music is one of the most important things (and one of the best things) that humans have come up with in this world.
