We can bring back the appropriate way of dating

I remember being a little girl and always thinking that one day a guy would ride up on a white horse and come and sweep me off my feet. He would always be good to me. He would surprise me with flowers and chocolate. But now that I am older, I realize that dating is nothing like I thought and guys do not do anything like what I grew up thinking. This article is not about attacking guys for not being a girl’s knight in shining armor. I am just simply saying that what we call dating in this generation is not even dating.

Guys, how hard is it to open a door for a girl? How difficult can it be to acknowledge when a girl changes something about herself. It could be as her hair or maybe she just decided to dress nice. Men act like showing affection or being sweet will make them less of a man, I really do not understand it. But trust me, it is not all your fault. Girls have become so quick to be trashy or to do something nasty to get attention, it is hard to find a good girl.

Girls, why do you think that you have to have revealing clothes on to get attention from men? Why do you think that the only way a guy will ever love you is if you let him break down your barriers? Physically and mentally. Be a lady! Leave your clothes on, go out with friends and do not worry about men! Ladies attract gentleman.

I hear all the time that chivalry is dead, but now I am actually starting to believe it. This generation does not know how to be in a proper relationship. We have all been raised on social media and putting our self worth into that. All we know how to do is party, hook up, and measure ourselves by how many likes we get on Instagram. We have all come to believe that we can not be loved unless we are loved on Instagram, favorited on Twitter, or messaged on Tinder. I hate the fact that we do not think highly of ourselves unless our followers do.

I think that it is time that our generation brings back chivalry and quits measuring our worth on social media.

So girls, take your butt off of the bathroom counter, leave your middle finger down, quit posting pictures half naked with red solo cups in your hands, and put some real clothes on. Guys, put your shirts back on, do not post pictures of the joint you just rolled, leave the alcohol bottles at the store, and become a gentleman.

Our generation can turn things around, we can bring back the appropriate way of dating. We just need to learn how to be gentleman and ladies. We need to quit putting our relationships at risk to go out and have a good time for one night.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
