As of 7:00 PM on November 13, 2015, approximately 115 people have been reported dead in France. That number continually rises with each passing hour as the world has been stunned by the terrorist attacks.
Many innocent people have lost their lives today, and their families will never have the answer as to why they were taken from them. It's a tragedy and something that no one could have expected. These people were enjoying their lives at a concert, in a restaurants, and several other locations.
I was able to visit Paris last summer and the culture of the country is unlike anywhere else. The people I met, the faces I saw, and the beautiful moment I witnessed after seeing a proposal under the Eiffel Tower all seem so distant and far away from the situation that France is currently facing. The people I saw could have been some of the victims or know loved ones who died and the brings me so much sadness.
It makes everyone, whether you live in France or not, question how safe we really are. This could have happened in any country. It's been only months since the last time Paris was attacked, and the country is now once again facing heartbreak and fear. The terrorists have ruined many innocent lives and left everyone with a heavy heart.
Terrorism isn't fair. It only causes pain and suffering from everyone affected. It instills fear and causes everyone to question how such terrible things can happen. This event shouldn't be just another thing that you see on the news and then forget about, it impacts everyone no matter where you are from.
Over the next few days please remember all of the lives that were lost, the families that are affected, and the police, first responders, doctors, and everyone else who is fighting to keep France safe. And lastly, please keep France is your prayers.
