France has officially closed it's borders and has declared a state of emergency, according to the Washington Post.
Final death toll is not known, but the current number stands at approximately 150, and numbers are expected to continue rising.
The attacks occurred in several areas in Paris, reports saying that half a dozen sites have been involved in the attack. The sites include outside a soccer stadium, several restaurants and cafés, and a concert hall.
Current reports are saying that at least 118 people have been killed at the Bataclan concert hall alone, where an American rock band , Eagles of Death Metal was scheduled to play, Washington Post reports. The attackers are said to have assault rifles and explosives that they used to massacre the hostages held inside.
The latest reports have said that French SWAT teams have stormed the concert hall, and that the attack at the scene is over.
According to CNN, and his official twitter account, French President François Hollande tweeted "Faced with terror, this is a nation that knows how to defend itself, how to mobilize its forces and once again, knows how to overcome the terrorists."
The attacks appear to be targeting areas where people would be on a Friday night.
A suspected suicide bomber detonated a bomb outside of a soccer stadium where France was playing Germany in a friendly match. Reports are saying that at least three people died when the bomb went off.
Several restaurants and cafés have been targeted, and some witnesses describe the shooting as sounding "like fireworks."
The president's office has said that 1,500 troops are currently deployed on the streets to provide back-up for the police,
An unknown number of attackers are still at large. According to CNN, five attackers have been neutralized, although it is unclear what the term meant.
No official claim has come from any terrorist organization, but within minutes of the attack beginning, ISIS praised the attack on social media, reportedly using the hashtag #parisinflames, according to Vocativ.
