Well, after a grueling search conducted my Mexican officials, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Leora has been captured...again.
After escaping in dramatic style, tunneling through the prison's sewers last year, El Chapo, or otherwise known in English as "The Chap", had a lot to catch up on while he was in the slammer. After taking his first shower as a renewed wanted fugitive to oust the stench of sewage from his carefully groomed mustache, he became a couch potato for a while and caught up on his TV, like any normal escaped prisoner would do.
Discovering the wonderful power of Netflix, he decided to binge watch Narcos. I don't blame him, it's a fantastic show and I highly recommend it, but it was without a doubt his first mistake after his escape.
His jealousy of Pablo Escobar's fame got the best of him. "Why can't I have a show about me and my wonderful life as a drug lord like Pablo does?!", said Guzman Leora (probably).
His henchman quickly contacted a production company to get rolling on his new hit Biopic, set to begin filming in cities near you.
Everything was going so well; the project was becoming a work of genius thanks to the guidance of the book "Writing a Screenplay for Dummies." But unfortunately production will not commence for a little while longer. After posting a promotional tweet for the new Oscar-worthy production, The Chap accidentally posted his location as well. He quickly realized his fault and deleted said tweet, but it was too late. A heartbroken El Chapo was re-re-arrested by Mexican authorities in Sinaloa.
What a 21st-century problem to have.
But hey, now that Mexico's only media-worthy drug lord is now back in prison, The New York Times wasted no time in declaring Mexico City a safe place to visit, as it landed on the top of the list of best places to visit in 2016.
So don't worry, if you still need last minute planning for Spring Break, Mexico City is definitely the place to go. No problems with drug lords there anymore for sure.
Also, a word to the wise (or lack thereof) to the Donald. If you want to build that wall of yours, make sure to go well beneath the ground, so El Chapo REALLY can't flee to the United States.
