The Greatest Pickup Book

A friend once showed me this dialogue that occurred between this guy that admired a girl he attended church with. So he looked up scriptures and fair enough he impressed the girl he admired. This is how the dialogue happened...

JOEY: Do you have a boyfriend?

AGNES: Nope. I don’t want to have a boyfriend.

JOEY: Genesis. chapter2:18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

AGNES : But I don’t love you.

JOEY: 1 John 4:8 “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

AGNES : And how do I know you mean those words?

JOEY: Matthew 12:34b ” For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

AGNES: But how can I be sure that you’re loyal and honest?

JOEY: Mark 13:31 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”

AGNES: But why me? There are a lot of girls out there.

JOEY: Proverbs 31:29 “Many womenn do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

AGNES: But what is it about me that you do like?

JOEY: Song of Solomon 4:7 “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.”

AGNES: But I’m not all that beautiful…you’re exaggerating.

JOEY: Proverbs 31:30 “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

AGNES: What happens if I say yes.

JOEY: Genesis 2:24 “Therefore man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his Agnes, and they shall become one flesh.”

AGNES : How come you know the scriptures this much?

JOEY: Joshua 1:8 ” This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and you will have good success.”

AGNES: Woo-ow, I can see you really love God.

JOEY: Psalm 34:8 “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.

AGNES: Mmm. Ok please give me time to think about it.

JOEY: Philippians 4:8 “Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

AGNES: Aw, I love you already

JOEY: Revelation 22:21b …

AGNES: AMEN!!!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
