Country Jam: If you've ever heard of this place, I'm sure you've heard remarks such as, "it's a four day bender" and, "it's s rage fest" and my personal favorite, "four days of nothing but booze, music, and half naked cowboys and cowgirls".
It's totally true. It's my "happy time" and my paradise out of 365 days in the year. what I would like to say about country jam is if you haven't been, it's probably because you hate country music, and fair enough, although I would favor this vacation over any other.
A lot of stuff goes on at country jam: you see bare ass people bangin' on tops of campers and rv's, condoms stuck to the inside of port-a-potties, a game of beer pong around every campsite corner, and the joy of seeing overly intoxocated people attempt to walk down the inconsistent and unruly bumps of the main walkway. It's honestly the best four days of the entire year, and I can't explain what it's like being here other than: it's fucking awesome.
So, thank you country jam. Thank you for more laughs, happiness, drunken tears, and drunken people then I would get all year. Thank you for bringing every beautiful cowboy in Colorado to one enclosed space. Thank you for making me more confident. Thank you for giving me four straight days of my favorite things.
Country jam is amazing. If you haven't been or are so unfortunate that you haven't even heard of this amazing drunk fest, please, please educate yourself. You'll drive how ever far it is into the western desert of this colorful state, and pull into more dust and the worst kind of hot you can imagine, but I promise, this is all worth it; you might leave country jam with more than multiple hangovers, a sunburn, and a new favorite artist. You could leave with the love of your life and newly found confidence.
There is so much more than a dusty cess pool in the middle of the desert that this place has to offer, I promise you, just get your favorite swim suit, your scuffed up pair of boots and all the beer you can buy. Open your ears and your heart, and you'll miss the first time you stop finding dirt in odd places
