It’s okay that he’s taking time with his video games and not spending time with you. It’s okay that he spends most of his time talking to other people online about the entirety of the game but can’t ask you how your day is going. But what’s not okay is how you’re treating him.
This guy doesn’t do anything out of the ordinary, but you want to be on him about constantly talking to you? You want him to have his entire attention on you? NEWSFLASH. You really don’t. Let me tell you why.
If you want a guy who will spend the majority of his time talking to you, do not be with the kind hearted man you are with right now. He’s learned patience from his games; he’s learned how to steal your heart without even realizing he has done it. This man would never cheat on you, nevertheless hurt you. You know where most guys are on a Saturday night? Drinking, getting laid, doing things they aren’t supposed to... Guess where your gamer boyfriend is? LAID UP IN BED BEING LOYAL PLAYING HIS VIDEO GAMES.
If you don’t want the guy you are with, please let him go because I can promise you someone else probably wants to be with him and will actually treat him with respect. As for the girls who support this habit and actually enjoy the fact that they have something to entertain their men when they can’t, POWER to you.
Here’s to the girlfriends of the guys who are gamers, you deserve the world for being patient. You deserve more than that because you have to sit through hours of their gaming period. Or if you’re anything like me, you take naps! But once they give you their full attention, you can tell you’re the only girl that matters to him and that you aren’t going to be replaced by a game. I personally think dating a gamer has bigger perks then dating the football star. Honestly, they are most likely better in every aspect of dating. At least, mine is. I claim mine, whole-heartedly and encourage you all to do the same.
To the girl with the gamer boyfriend, let him game. Let him be himself because once he is done and giving his attention to you, I promise you this – he won’t let you down.
