If you've ever been to USF, you've seen or encountered a squirrel at some point. They basically run the school and if you see one while holding a Chick-fil-A bag: run, just run. But each has their own personality, so to help you maneuver your way through the campus here are the five squirrels you'll meet at USF.
1. The fearless squirrel
This squirrel is the one that's probably caused you to fall of your bike or longboard at some point. He's also the stubborn one that won't get out your way when driving. Honestly, I think they have some kind of on-going chicken game especially devised. Keep an eye out for these squirrels because you'll eventually meet one and I'm sure you don't want it to end with you on the ground.
2. The squirrel that just wants to learn
This squirrel is most commonly seen in the CMC building because they've learned how to work the automatic doors. Upon entering the building they will proceed to perch on trashcans and people watch or sit in on your lectures because they too want an education. If you see these squirrels don't be alarmed, instead silently applaud them for wanting to better themselves.
3. The Chick-fil-A obsessed squirrels
These are the ones to watch out for. Mostly found near the MSC, specifically in the beautiful arch way in the middle of the school. These squirrels are not afraid to climb on top of you and steal your Chick-fil-A nuggets right out of your hand. They are fearless and relentless. I suggest not feeding them at all and to NEVER make eye contact.
4. The hungry squirrels
Commonly seen near the dorms or outside of fresh foods, these squirrels will eat anything (or attempt to eat). One time I witnessed a squirrel attempting to bring an entire pizza slice up a tree. I'll admit he was almost there and it was pretty impressive, but right at the last second the pizza slice fell. I don't think I've ever seen a squirrel look so devastated.
5. The squirrels who have a war with the Castor ducks
Now this is just my theory, but I'm pretty sure the squirrels and ducks have some secret feud between them. It's unspoken, but at night they have little battles over who reigns over USF and who gets the Chick-fil-A nuggets. It might be safe to say the squirrels are winning.
