Although I myself am a fan of the fall, there is always apart of me that will forever love our winter months. Yes, it can be cold, it can be difficult to drive and it is obnoxious wearing multiple layers of clothing to stand the outdoors and become a self serving fernis the second you walk indoors, but no matter what, we all love winter. Here are the top five 'F reasons' why winter will always be a favorite time of the year:
1. FOOD- Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is cuddling up in a warm blanket with a cup of hot coco. But truthfully, holiday food is so much more than that! Winter is the time to fill up on all of those deliciously hardy foods that we all love. For example, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, soup, casseroles with extra cheese, warm breed eggnog, pumpkin - the list goes on as my mouth begins to water. Bottom line, regardless, food in the winter automatically tastes better and makes you feel more full.
2. FASHION- Layers are annoying. I shiver outdoors and I sweat profusely indoors. But no matter how much I complain, I love winter fashion. Cute beanies, mittens, scarves, boots, jackets, sweaters and my ultimate favorite, vests. If you love fashion, winter is the perfect time for you! Winter is the time for more opportunities to mix and match some of your favorite pieces, and play around with new styles. So pile it on and layer it up.
3. FUN- First and foremost, if you are a lover of winter sports, of course this is the best time of year! Hitting the slopes by skiing, snowboarding, or sledding, skating over the ice or building a good ole' snowman, winter sports tend to be some of the most fun! If being super active in the snow isn't your definition of fun, looking at Christmas lights and big displays throughout the city you live in can be a cute date night or fun group activity!
4. FAMILY- Winter is the best time for family time. It is a great time for the entire family to get together and laugh about old goofy memories and get excited and encourage each other for their futures. Gathering around the Christmas tree with my siblings and parents are some of my most fond memories from my childhood, now growing older, it is still some of my favorite events. This is a great time for family bonds to get even stronger.
5. FOREVER- The winter months bear some big holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years comes right after one another. These holidays always guarantee a new memory. Memories will last you a lifetime. I know for me, these winter months are the times I will cherish the most, forever indeed.
There it is, my five favorite f's for the winter months. Remember, through the cold and snow we have so much to enjoy!
