It's that time of the school year when you come back to campus after a long break, and get hit with the cruel reality that you basically have to do the first semester all over again. That's right! It must be none other than the start of the Spring Semester! Needless to say, the first week of this seemingly new endeavor certainly comes with it's own set of special feelings. Without further adieu, let's get down to some GIFS that totally line up with how the first week of the spring semester feels like.

1. Getting to see your college friends and roommate for the first time in what feels like forever.

Whether or not you realized it while you were home for winter break, you know now that you really did miss seeing these people on a daily basis. If you haven't experienced a bunch of high-pitched hellos and dramatic hugs, you may or may not be doing the first week of the new semester wrong.

2. Finally eating that favorite campus meal that you missed while on break.

Even if the food on your college campus isn't the greatest, it's probably still fair to say that there's at least one meal or snack that you weren't able to get your hands on at home and therefore missed dearly over break. (Fredonia's stir fry station in the William's Center, I'm talking to you!)

3. Those few days between when you move in and when class actually starts.

If your move-in situation was anything like mine, you probably had a few free days before you had to actually... You know... Do stuff. If you ask me there's no better feeling than having a few days to settle in and do what you please at your leisure (Yes, even if that means never getting out of your pajamas and laying in bed all day. It's pretty fantastic.)

4. Printing all of the syllabi!

If you thought you had enough ink and paper for your printer leftover from the fall semester, you may want to think again!

5. That feel when you realize you're about to be broke from buying all your required texts.

Remember that few bucks you might have made from babysitting or doing chores while you were home on break? Mhm. Kiss it GOODBYE because you're about to spend all of it and more on a crap ton of textbooks.

6. The night before the first day of classes.

Of course, it's not just like any old night, because it comes along with the painful forced acceptance of the fact that you're no longer at home, and actually have obligations to fulfill in the morning. Chances are, they also probably require to wake up at some hour that is pretty ungodly in comparison to the times that you slept in until while on break. Set that alarm and suck it up, sister.

7. The feeling of exhaustion after the first day.

Let's face it: When you've been able to relax at home for a month or more, it's pretty easy to forget that running around campus and going to class all day can be downright exhausting.

...I'll just lay here. Someone wake me up when it's spring break.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
