10 Things Spring Semester Makes You Realize

Spring semester brings warmth, sunshine, the long awaited darties, and all-over good vibes; but along with the spring semester, the realization your year is almost done hits you like a ton of bricks. Here's 10 things the spring semester makes college kids realize:

1. You can't get anything done for the life of you when it's nice out

"I heard it's supposed to be 80 today... " The forecast basically predicts whether or not you're going to pretend like you don't have that 25 page paper due, those two books to read, nine chapters to outline, and three finals to study for...

2. You're so thankful you saved your skips

Those days of trekking to class in the snow and rain are long over and finally paid off...

3. You have to start thinking about summer plans...

An internship... a job (or two)... a summer class...a relatively small social life at least?

4. The thought of moving out and getting all your sh*t packed up gives you major anxiety

If it's not your first year of college, you understand...if you're a freshman, good luck.

5. You realize those "due at the end of the year" assignments really should've been done (or at least started) awhile ago

"You will be tracking a business throughout the entire semester and then presenting your findings during finals week."

"You'll have all semester to interview a professional; don't wait until the last minute, they are busy people."

"You'll need to pick a research topic and work on the paper, and by the end of the semester have roughly 25-30 pages -- don't push this off until the last week!!"

haha whoops...

6. You want to go home because you're so stressed, but get FOMO leaving campus

Spring semester has us constantly torn between wanting to go home and escape all the work and stress, and staying on campus and enjoying every second of school.

7. You find everyone using the phrase "rally" wayyy too often

"There are never day drinks- - you have to rally.."

"There are only three more Tuesdays left; you've got to rally, everyone's going out."

"I have a 9:30 class -- if I can rally, you can too."

8. People feen for a good day drink

Still debating what's better: the day drink itself, or seeing the entire study body hammered in the dining hall after...

9. Seeing incoming freshmen on tours makes you feel elderly

Seeing incoming freshmen tour your campus brings you back to senior year you, and when you first decided this was the school for you. Look at you now (fifteen pounds heavier, most likely in a lot of debt, and already dreading graduation)....

10. Time FLIES

Spring semester starts slow; it's still cold, there's a lot of work -- nothing extraordinarily exciting. But once the year comes to an end, and one of your four years of college is in the books, there's no going back. Counting down the end of the spring semester for some is exciting; some people can't wait for summer -- for some people, it's their final days in college. Spring semester comes fast and ends even faster, and teaches us that these four years of our lives really do fly by, and we should enjoy every second of them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
