The first week back to classes is always a struggle. But it still has its good moments.
Personally, I'm already knee-deep in Shakespeare and Homer, but the first week of school still has maintained its shiny quality. And as "sylly week" comes to a close, we mourn the loss of our free time and sleep-in-til-noon schedules.
Here's seven things that all college kids know to be true upon arriving back on campus for the new semester.
1. The joy of seeing your friends again after the break.
Whether they live across the country or you saw them yesterday, it's still exciting to get the gang back together.
2. Even if you're not ready to get back to work yet, there is still that slight excitement about syllabus week.
New pens, fresh notebooks, getting lost on your way to classrooms you've never had to find before. Get excited!
3. "Sylly Week"
This is supposed to be your easiest week, but this is also the week you find out just how much work you have to do this semester.
4. And as it is your easiest week, enjoy the freedom while you still have it.
The thing is, you can relate to both of them in this picture simultaneously.
5. Having to do work again.
Even though it's only the first week, you've probably done more work in three days than you did the entire winter break.
6. Getting back on a regular sleeping schedule.
For the first time in a month, you have to wake up before noon. Good luck.
7. The realization that this starts over again on Monday.
Can we not?
