The First Week Back To College, Told By The Characters Of 'Friends'

Back to school time is here, and for most college students it's a bitter sweet occasion. Summer is officially over, but so many new and exciting adventures and experiences are ahead of us. Between getting up early, sitting through long and tedious classes, and taking care of yourself all alone once again, the first week back is always a crazy one to say the least. Whether you started school last week, this week, or are getting ready to start in the weeks to come here are some situations I think most college students can relate to told by characters that we all know and love so much.

Waking up for those dreaded 8 a.m. classes.

After completely messing up our sleeping schedules over summer, waking up early is not ideal for any college student. Plus, we all know we are bound to say something stupid before the coffee kicks in.

Getting to class and seeing a cute boy(or girl) sitting in front of you

What you think you're about to say...

What actually comes out of your mouth..

As smooth as you think you may be, it's time to face the fact that you're actually not.

When the professor starts going over the 12 page syllabus

At this point you are seriously questioning why you signed up for this class. Actually, you're contemplating why you even went to college in the first place.

"Have any of you had the chance to look over your textbook this summer?"

Textbooks were probably the last thing on our mind this summer, so no I have no clue what paragraph in chapter two you're talking about.

When the professor switches from the syllabus to Lecture #1 on the first day

The worst possible feeling is when everyone starts packing up their things after the syllabus has been covered and then suddenly the professor pulls up a powerpoint titled "Lecture 1". It's like having all your hopes and dreams crushed like a little tiny bug.

When you just rolled out of bed and pass a girl who looks like she just stepped out of New York Fashion Week

I often wonder how some people have the energy to not only wake up extremely early, but also look so well put together. Because, it takes me a while just to appear like I wasn't just run over by a bus.

Stumbling back home after a long day of classes

You can try to convince yourself all you want that you're okay, but inside you know that a mental break down is not far around the corner because you are exhausted in every way possible.

Finally, it's the weekend!

You survived the first week back to school! So, go out and celebrate, and dance like Chandler Bing!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
