Students, we have officially entered into the final stretch of the fall 2015 semester, and you know what that means. Finals are right around the corner, so don't let them catch you off guard. Here are some tips to get you by this stressful next couple of weeks.
1. Cramming is your enemy.
This is possibly the worst thing you can do. Leaving all your work until the last minute will only leave you more stressed and tired than ever. Plan your work ahead of time and schedule papers and studying to be done at certain times so you can avoid cramming at all costs.
2. Lists and schedules are essential.
Lists are a life saver. Make sure you write out all the assignments that you have to do and due dates so you don't forget anything. Writing schedules and planning are also essential to success. Forgetting about a final can ruin your grade, so make sure you stay on top of your work.
3. Use your resources.
The library, classmates, the Internet, professors, etc. All these resources are available to help you maximize your success. Don't be afraid to email people and ask for help; they all want you to do well. Getting some help is never a bad thing.
4. Don't stress.
Stress is the number one killer of productivity. When you get stressed, you freak out and when you freak out, you get no work done. Keep the stress down to a minimum to maximize your performance. Take breaks every so often and do things that relax you.
5. Coffee or energy drinks?
These two types of drinks help you stay focused and awake while doing work. Now, I'm not saying to go out and drink 10, but one cup will keep you alive and your head in the game. Don't drink it too close to bed time, though, because you might not be able to fall asleep.
6. Rest is important.
Make sure you're not going to bed at unreasonable hours. Sleep is essential for keeping a clear mind and keeping a consistent train of thought. Being groggy and tired will only make you want to slack more and ignore all your responsibilities.
7. Keep your eyes on the prize.
It's only two weeks that you have to study, so stick it out and get those good grades! Don't forget to celebrate when you're done!
