It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Winter break, or as most college kids like to call it – Netflix – is four weeks of freedom that we look forward to all semester. We get to enjoy home-cooked meals, see our friends from high school and not have to worry about any school work for an entire month. However, we all get to that point (usually once the holidays are over) where break seems like a never-ending cycle of wishing you were back at school yet not quite being ready to leave home. You miss all the freedom of being away at school, but definitely not the responsibility of trying to pass all your classes.
1. By now your mom has asked you roughly 5 million questions.
Ranging from your daily heart rate to what season and episode of OTH you're binge-watching. Oh yeah – and if that boy has texted you yet.
2. You and your friends have done everything there is to do in your small town so you've now resorted to going to the mall every day.
Talk about a middle school throwback.
3. If you were at school right now you would be posing for an Instagram picture before heading out for Thirsty Thursday.
But here at home Thursdays are a lot less glamorous
4. Watching 10 hours of Netflix per day is really starting to have an impact on your mental stability.
Thanks a lot, Shonda Rhimes.
5. Did you know that running from your problems isn't considered an actual workout?
Thank God the VS Semi-Annual sale is going on -– yoga pants for days.
6. But then you see your crush's ex-girlfriend out on the town and realize your life is more put together than you think.
"Put together" is a loose term.
7. Except for the fact that said boy has not spoken to you all of the break.
Not that you've been keeping track or anything.
8. You and your college besties are already planning out your spring semester together.
Anything to give you hope that break will soon come to an end.
9. All of your friends somehow already went back to school.
But you still have to survive another dreaded week of break all by yourself.
10. Of course, once you're back at school you realize you were crazy to think there's any place you would rather be other than home.
How many days until summer vacation?
