If there is one thing pretty much everyone enjoys, it's seeing their favorite band or artist in live concert. There's the music, the crowd, the lights, the sound, and all the rest that creates this fantastic rush; it instills in you a feeling of pure enjoyment that few other things can create. While all music is respectable and all can create a wonderful concert experience, there is one genre that, I believe, rules the concert scene - metal.
I've been to a few metal shows in my 18 years, and every one of them has been transcendental. Whether it be some sweeping, melodic death metal telling tales of Odin and Thor, or djenty, bouncing, brutal deathcore preaching hate against the government, I always get this feeling while I'm at a show like that, with all the other people there packed in around me, moving, jumping, sweating, screaming, cheering, this feeling that we're all there for the same reason and yet every one of our experiences is totally different. Despite what people may say and believe about metal and people who listen to metal, it is not necessarily hateful in its nature. In fact, I feel an intense sense of comradery with the people around me during metal concerts. If someone falls down, we help them up. If someone loses their wallet or glasses, we help them find them. If someone busts their nose in a mosh pit or wall of death, we clap them on the shoulder and shout, "Hell yeah, bro!" in their ear. It's all in good fun; we are, after all, there for the music and to have a good time. Metal makes brothers and sisters out of everyone there.
