The fateful day has come, a week long process to find your future home. You are in love with the houses you have left, but you deep down want the one house that you know was made for you. Your Gamma Chi has not said that you haven't received a bid, so you know you have one. You get ready, and head to the auditorium. The ceremony seems to drag on because all you want to do is open the bid card in your lap that seals your fate. The moment is here, you open the card, and there it is. Your dream house. You try to hold in the tears of happiness, but you can't hold it back.
You enter the room to sign your bid day card, and you learn some chants and how to throw the sign that will consist about half of your Insta pictures. Despite the heels, you run to the house, and jump into the arms of your bid day buddy. During my bid day, I thanked God that my phone was fully charged because, boy, were there a lot of pictures taken.
I will put in one bit of advice: wait to go buying overload on new sorority stuff, because you want to wait to see what your big gets you for reveal and for initiation.
Honestly, bid day is the day you go through hell to experience. Recruitment week is probably one of the worst weeks of your life, but it leads to one of the best days of your life. I am so incredibly blessed to have met the people in my sorority, and they have changed me for the better. Bid day is a day filled with joy and excitement. As we look on the horizon to the next year, we are happy to have these actives and new members by our side to make this next year the best it can be.
