The Daily Heckle

The end of the semester is fast approaching and we're all starting to feel the effects. No matter where you go to college, or if it's been years since you graduated, everyone knows or remembers these feelings all too well. Fortunately, the cast of television's all-time greatest show is here to remind you that you're not the only one feeling this way.

Power through, friend! You can make it!

1. When you get back from spring break and feel optimistic for no reason

2. When you go back to class and lose all of your optimism

3. When you think you can trust your professor by now and then they assign an extra paper

4. When you're talking about summer plans and someone says, "But there's still two months left of the semester!"

5. When things start falling apart and you take care of problems in very questionable ways

6. When your roommate freaks out about an exam and ends up getting a better grade than you

7. When you start stress-eating but refuse to have any regrets

8. When you arrive at your friend's place Friday night after a very, very long week

9. When you're falling apart but someone asks how you're doing

10. When you find out the final is 70 percent of your final grade

11. When you're out on the weekend but you've forgotten how to dress or act like a real person

12. When the caffeine isn't cutting it and you can't make it through another lecture

13. When your roommates come home and you all need a way to cope with the stress

14. When there are only a few weeks left of the semester but you're still trying hard in an 8 a.m.

15. When you start feeling sick before finals week

16. When you get back on the scale and realize the consequence of stress eating

17. When you find a moment to relax and try to leave your worries behind

18. When you have too many conflicting emotions and you can't deal with them all at once

19. When you finish your exams and start getting grades back

20. And when you're finally done with everything and it's time for the summer to begin

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
