The 8 Places You Ended Up On Halloween

If you planned on celebrating Halloween correctly, then we both know ending up at home was never in the plan.

The 8 Places You Ended Up On Halloween

Happy Halloween, 2016! Ringing in the spookiest night of the year can be filled with fun for everyone. Some go trick or treating through the neighborhood, some play cute themed games from Pinterest...And then there's college, where we drink warm beer and make homemade costumes out of Value Village shirts and ducktape. The real fun begins after October blends in to November–deep into the night of the walking dead, where did you end up?

1. The Couch of Some Guys' House Party

You made it to the party- probably through the rain and wind of this late autumnal night, and now you're tired. After dancing all night with your friends and sweating through your banana suit costume, you find yourself plunked down on a corduroy couch that somehow smells like the 70's. You rest your head on the shoulder of the Britney Spears wannabe to your right. This is definitely your bed for the night.

2. Next to Your Cat's Litter Box

The bed is just too far away this time. You slide your keys on to the floor and kick your boots off next to the stove. Thank god your "Dad Bod" costume came with a fluffy gut to put under your head. That, the cold tile floor, and the smell of your cat's disappointment in you will just have to do for tonight.

3. Your Ex's House

One too many sips later, the phone is nearly falling out of your hand, but somehow you find that old contact. You'll end up there soon enough if they can decipher your emoji mess–and if your friends stop rolling their eyes and get out of the way of the door.

4. Your Next Ex's House

Sometimes it's the way they walked in the room, sometimes it's the fourth red cup in your hand, and sometimes it's a case of carpe noctem. Bae most definitely just made themselves known. You probably won't leave your number in the morning, but in this round of trick or treat, you've got your eyes set on the latter. Halloween only comes around once a year for a reason. Just make sure to pick your "Where's Waldo" hat and glasses set off the floor on your way out.

5. The Sidewalk Outside of Street Meat

There's very few things less satisfying than making the long, cold walk to the street corner. The carts steam up, crowds breeze around you outside of the bars, and when you make it to the front of the line, a warm dog is waiting for you covered in relish, mustard, and 'chup. Try not to throw it back up later like the frat boy you saw in the crosswalk.

6. Somewhere Where Pancakes are Sold

Nothing like a short stack after 1 AM, plain and simple. Nights like these were why IHOP was invented in the first place, right?

7. Locked Outside of your Apartment

You wobbled and weaved all the way through the obstacles of the late night world: drunk friends, trees, street lamps–and now you're outside of your home, imagining the box of Cheez-its you left on the counter in the kitchen for this very exact moment. You reach into your coat pocket, but all you find is a tootsie pop and a rubber band. Meanwhile, someone on the other side of the city is picking your lanyard off the floor, my friend.

8. Your Mom's House

Your best friend left the party with your keys, wallet, and most importantly your phone. Who's the only number you've memorized since the 2nd grade? Time to call mommy. Good thing your old bed is waiting for your at home–right after a cup of tea and maybe a scolding or two.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
