It's "gobble gobble" season, but don't "gobble gobble" at the dinner table please.

Thanksgiving is a time where friends and family come together to enjoy a feast and express their gratitude. Every year, people looks forward to a table filled with an endless amount of food, half-time shows of the Super Bowl, the Thanksgiving Parade, Black Friday shopping, and just spending quality time with family. But, let's not forget the proper etiquette that comes along with Thanksgiving.

1. DO Dress Nice

Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday to wear your best Fall outfit. Dress up in a cute dress and tights or dress comfy in a warm sweater. Just be sure not to wear anything too frumpy because your family members are bound to want pictures with you.

2. DON'T Talk About Politics

Thanksgiving conversations should be as calm as possible. With the house filled with people, everyone has different opinions on current events, but things can go out of hand with a hot topic at the dinner table. Opt for calmer conversations like what's happening in each others' lives.

3. DO Compliment The Chef(s)

We should always appreciate that we have food on our table and we are fortunate to have so much food on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving meals are extremely time-consuming and hard to prepare, so we need to give thanks to the host for cooking non-stop from the crack of dawn. A little compliment goes a long way.

4. DON'T Talk With Your Mouth Full

No one likes to see the nasty chewed up food in the back of your mouth, so PLEASE chew with your mouth closed.

5. DO Help With The Dishes

The clean-up process is just as important as the set-up process. Become your family's favorite child by cleaning up the table, washing the dishes, and helping out as much as you can.

6. DON'T Get Into A Food Coma

Thanksgiving food can get a little overwhelming. With so much starch from the mashed potatoes and stuffing, you start to feel drowsy. Instead of stuffing your face with stuffing (yes, pun intended), eat smaller portions of carbs and fill yourself up with more protein and vegetables. Trust me, your body will thank you for it later.

7. DO Make Each Other Laugh

No one likes a serious meal filled with silence because it just becomes awkward and boring. Try to bring the family together by telling jokes and making a connection with everyone at the table. From your youngest cousin to the oldest grandparent, have conversations with everyone.

8. DON'T Miss The Halftime Show

Even if you're not a fan of football, you can always watch celebrities perform live on TV during the Halftime Show of the Super Bowl. Who doesn't love to watch Beyonce or Lady Gaga sing and dance on stage?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
