Welcome to Part two! If you missed part one, check it out! Once the rounds of recruitment start and you meet so many amazing women, you tend to turn inward. Memories of sisterhood and the experiences that women going through recruitment will have is exciting. Watching someone find their home is one of the best experiences.
Sunday
- You are tired because all of Saturday was spent talking, but good conversations were had by all!
- Get ready for round two.
- Make all the cheese sauce.
- Maybe look up a recipe on how to do it because you said you knew how but, in reality, it’s probably harder than you thought.
- Pinterest is #bae
- How much cheese do you make? A lot of cheese is usually the best cheese but you never know how much people will like it.
- Get dressed because you can cook in yoga pants but you cannot recruit in yoga pants.
- All hands on deck to carry everything across campus!
- The cheese maker is in charge of the crock pot but has anyone experienced how hard it is to actually carry a crock pot with tiny handles? It’s a feat, let me tell you.
- Blow up all the balloons possible and then artfully arrange them into Greek Letters on the wall! Use extra tape because otherwise they will fall down and scare you in the middle of the event.
- Talk to all the women! About philanthropy, food, and their interests. This is about genuinely getting to know them, because these are the first true conversations you are able to have.
- 45 minutes goes by too fast and inevitably Panhellic members will come to pick up the women who attended.
- Eat all the mini-weenies (or Pigs in a Blanket if you are not our Recruitment Chair).
- Clean up and start taking everything back to the house.
- Remember to watch your step while you carry things down the stairs
- Know how many stairs you have left.
- If you fall, save the cheese.
- Stand up and brush off that fall like a boss, you still look fly in your dress.
- Go home, put on your pajamas, make some tea and settle down with your homework for the night. I know you had plans to do it all on Sunday but, let’s be real, it didn’t happen.
- Hopefully go to bed before 1:00 p.m., but that paper will be a pain.
Monday
- Classes are a thing again, so be sure to wake up for those and turn in all the homework you finished five hours prior to waking up!
- Make coffee or tea, whatever caffeine will get you through the day.
- In the afternoon start making more cheese!
- It’s the same event, just for two more rounds of women!
- Conversation, conversation, conversation
- Repeat day one process
- But luckily, you know how to make those balloon letters in half the time now!
- Only eat the mini-weenies after both rounds are done and, for a little something extra, dip them in the cheese!
- It is now 10 pm, time to start you homework because there is another paper due tomorrow morning!
Tuesday
- The last day of rounds!
- Preferencing!
- This is the last chance to make a good impression
- But just remember it is not about who you choose, it is about who chooses you.
- Women will figure out where they feel at home and that is the most important part of tonight.
- It is OK if they don’t find home with your particular chapter.
- After the event, you know the drill—homework!
- All you can do now is wait for Bids Bash – or Walkouts at Alma!
- You get to see what house everyone has chosen.
- And YOU get new members!
- This will be a night that girls remember for years to come, but they will also start to build those lasting friendships!
Bon chance to everyone through recruitment!
