The Current State Of The United States
Opening Door to new things

Enough is enough. What is this madness that we are seeing unveil before our eyes? This is completely disheartening to both envision and be a part of. Just as every individual does, get yourself ready for bed and sleep your 6-9 hours per night. Boom, the television goes on and boom, yet again, another shooting, another mass killing event, and another mass mourning event. Enough is enough. What is this? Are we the 50 states that are united by our constitution and principles that we once were? Absolutely not! This is just sad beyond belief.

I want every one of you reading this for a moment to close your eyes. Envision what I am about to tell you.

Imagine freedom of the United States with the American Flag flying above you, happiness, joy and smiles coming from families among the United States, but most importantly I want you to envision the tears, the sorrow and the sadness that is in the eyes of many today. What have we become?

I am tired of turning on the television and seeing these mass events happening. It isn’t just in the United States that I am sick and tired beyond belief of hearing, but more over I am tired of hearing these events happening beyond our borders and abroad as well.

We are humans of earth. We all breath the same air, we all have a motivation every morning when we wake up, and most importantly, we all want to succeed in life as we know it. Today, that definition of success is intermingled with constant dramatic situations of such that are truly a big deal to society.

There isn’t much that someone behind a television can do to stop these events. There too, isn’t much that someone behind a cell phone or listening on the radio can do to stop these events. What can help contribute to stopping these events though are activism and using your voice, either the students or the adults to make an impact in your community.

We as humans trust one another with our voice. It is highly impactful to be an activist in your community to make a difference. Meet with your political leaders, speak with your police chief, talk with your city council and be that x-factor in your community. Change is only a voice away, but there is no change with silence, but rather, sorrow and tears.

I live in Kentucky today, but I believe that my message that I am portraying here today should go beyond our Old Kentucky Home. We have 49 other states that truly too can make an impact.

I depart my message by saying something truly from the heart. Imagine with your eyes closed that it was your family that was impacted by an event of such. It really doesn’t matter to me if you are left-winged or right-winged or straight down in the middle, but envision that for a moment. You will be hit with shock and you truly will want to do anything in your might and beyond to make a difference. Now I want you to open your eyes.

The light is surrounding you. The stars at night are above you. The map in the sky is waiting for your direction, and the light during the day is waiting for your exposure. It is time to rise above the occasion and make the impact that everyone on this planet should do. Put down the device you’re using right now, walk out of your room, and walk out of your door to society.

It's time make a difference, and its time to make change happen.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
