Every college student knows that once the semester begins, the assignments come flooding in as well. With syllabi thicker than some textbooks, and deadlines thrown at you in the first 20 minutes of class, it's definitely hard to keep up with everything. But have no fear, because I (along with a little help from Pinterest) am here to show you how I personally keep myself from falling behind on all my assignments.
Keeping a planner is honestly one of the greatest things you can do to help you get through all the ups and downs of the semester. But if you haven't used a planner before, there's no need to worry or freak out over everything involved.
Your planner should be a reflection of who you are as a person. If you're someone who is very serious and focuses strictly on your work, then a more neutral or earth-toned planner would be best for you. However, if you're like me, and you're attracted to the pink, glittery, and vibrant things in life, girl don't worry I'm here to help.
Two types of planners that I recommend are the Erin Condren Life Planner, and The Happy Planner. I have used both, and am currently using a Happy Planner, and they're both absolutely amazing. The cover designs are endless, and with a little searching, you can learn how to make your own personalized covers too! The Erin Condren are a little more expensive, so if you're on a tighter budget, I would suggest you purchasing a Happy Planner (SECRET: if you get them at Michaels, AC More, Hobby Lobby, or any other craft stores, you can use a coupon on them too!)
Now, once you've decided on what kind of planner you're going to use, here comes the exciting part: stickers!! This is completely optional, but I believe it adds a little bit more character to the otherwise blank pages. You can go directly through either manufacturers website to purchase stickers, or you could check out Etsy to find some amazing sticker sets! Some of my favorite shops to find stickers are PaigePlans, Sweet Kawaii Designs, and Pretty Sheepy. You can also find some beautiful stickers in your local craft stores, and you can check on Pinterest for any free printables. You can print them on regular paper, or on sticker paper, which you can find at Staples for less than $15. You can change the theme every week, or keep it similar all month or year long!
After this, the rest is up to you! Use different colored pens, highlighters, post- its, washi tape, whatever you think is going to help you stay organized. So, happy planning friends! Maybe in a later article, once the semester kicks off, I'll show you how I use my new Happy Planner, so stay tuned!
