What Each Of 'The Clique' Girls Would Be Like As College Students

From OCD to University

For those of you who don't know, "The Clique" was a popular tween book series turned movies about a group of girls attending private school in Westchester County, New York. Fans already know all about their life in private school, but what would they be like in college? Well...

Claire

Claire would choose USC because it's the best school for film and photography. Although she is so over Florida because of what happened with her old friends there, she does like the warm weather and proximity to the beach, and USC, being in LA, has those things. Also, it's near the glamorous, celebrity, rich and famous lifestyle, which as much as Claire claims "isn't her," she can't help but be drawn to. Claire would minor in political science because that "Dawn of a new Claire-a" side hasn't completely left her and she'd be open to running for office, but only if Layne was her campaign manager. And she would totally rush.

Dylan

The resident foodie of the group, Dylan would attend Johnson and Wales University because of its many food-related majors before ultimately settling on Food and Beverage Entrepreneurship because she wants to be a boss and totally has the funds to do it. She would choose media and communications studies as her minor because, after a rough start, she ultimately enjoyed being on her family's reality show and wants to learn more about the industry.

Kristen

Kristen would choose University of North Carolina because of its school spirit and importance placed on athletics. She would play on the soccer team there and become captain and ultimately decide on Sports Management as her major because after running that makeup company for class, she felt more confident with her skills as a leader. Also, from her substituting in a boys' soccer game she knew that if anyone could conquer a male-dominated field, it's Kristen Gregory.

Alicia

Alicia would study Broadcast Journalism at the University of Miami since it's her dream to be a news anchorwoman. Since Miami is so diverse, Alicia will finally feel free to express her culture without fear of being judged by her best friend (Massie is slowly learning not to do that). Alicia will join the best sorority on campus and become its Vice President, so she'll have authority and leadership but not as much pressure as the president. Alicia will live for parties but always brings her boyfriend Josh, who attends the same school, as her date whenever it's a couples event because although she likes to get turnt, she is loyal to her man.

Massie

Massie would ultimately settle on the University of Pennsylvania because it has the best undergraduate business program in the country and she has CEO goals. However, William and Kendra had to give a large donation for them to accept her because although Massie is very smart, she can't resist the urge to use her shrewdness and energy to ruin people's lives rather than study. Since the school is full of rich kids, most people can afford what she can so she doesn't feel special anymore, and since they're in college, fewer people are willing to be influenced and bullied by her. She spends a lot of time face timing the other girls but ultimately gets into and becomes in charge of the most exclusive eating club (what Ivy Leagues have rather than sororities or frats) and pays people to take her tests for her. The siren song of status has enchanted her once again but hopefully, she'll learn her lesson soon.

Layne

Layne would get into MIT, study engineering, and make many friends that are super smart but that everyone thought was weird growing up. While in college she will date many boys since she isn't sure what her type is yet but will slam anyone who tries to slut shame her because women can be good at STEM and still date around. She'll also grow up to make more money than all of the girls that used to make fun of her, but instead of spending it on Chanel, she'd buy limited edition fandom stuff to decorate her house with. She'd also try to convince Claire to run for president so she could be her campaign manager.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
