The year of this event is currently unknown to me, but it was a love story that began at a train station. When my mother told me this story, it sounded like a fairy-tale come true. The story you are about to read is written in an honorable memory of my great grandparents.
During a mid-summer's day, a young solider, also a carpenter, was waiting to get on a train along with many other soldiers. This solider was fairly tall and had light blue eyes. As he looked around at his surroundings, his eyes stopped on one thing that intrigued him the most.
It was a woman with long, dark hair, light blue eyes, and a lovely figure. She was a regular civilian that was also waiting to get on the same train as the solider. The solider marveled at this woman's incredible beauty. He pondered about speaking to her.
However, before he could react to anything else, the train arrived. As the soldiers started getting on the train, the man stopped and realized that the woman would not be allowed to get on this train. This train was only transporting soldiers.
The woman would have to wait for the next train like the other civilians, unless she was a part of a solider's family. This made the solider get an idea. He spoke to the woman and said that she could pretend to be his wife, so that she would not have to wait for the next train.
The woman smiled after she agreed. After they both got on the train, their lives changed forever.
When the couple got married, they moved into a small, red house. The solider was no longer a part of the army and was now just an average carpenter. He created many things, including things for their home. However, it was not enough.
The carpenter wanted more for their family. He started to invest in building a three-story house. He worked on it for many days and spent a lot of money. His wife was concerned that they would go bankrupt.
The carpenter's wife had come from a rich family that had lost all their money and she did not want that to happen again. So, the carpenter sold their red house so that they would not go bankrupt.
The couple's life was not always easy. More tragedies occurred when the carpenter's wife kept having miscarriages. Eventually, they decided to adopt children instead, since they could never have their own.
The love that these two had for each other conquered all of their sorrow and pain that they went through. This story has proven to me that love at first sight does exist, but it can only be possible for a few people.
Love is a remarkable and powerful emotion. If a couple is truly in love, then nothing is impossible. My great grandparents accomplished many things no matter what outcomes occurred and they were always there for each other.
