“Baby we're back, did ya miss me miss me.” (Lyrics from Now by Emblem3). Boy did we miss them. After getting fourth on the popular reality TV show “X Factor” in 2012, the boys of Emblem3, Drew Chadwick, Wesley Stromberg, and Keaton Stromberg, were signed onto Simon Cowell’s record label. The fans believed all was well, but they were wrong. After a year of unhappiness Drew Chadwick decided enough was enough and left the band in June of 2014. The Stromberg brother’s continued on as “Emblem3” by going on tour and releasing new music, but it wasn’t the same without Chadwick.

Emblem3’s fans didn’t know what the future held for Emblem3. But in September of 2015 the boys stepped out in the public eye as a trio for the first time since Chadwick left in 2014.No one knew what that had meant. But, later in the fall of 2015 they finally made an announcement to their fans who were members of their fan club that they were getting back together. In February of 2016 they released their first single “Now” as the band that they wanted to be since “X Factor”. The boys are now on the Waking Up Tour promoting their new EP “Waking Up” and their newest single “End of the Summer”. Check out the single here:

Drew, Wesley, and Keaton know how to keep their fans entertained during their shows. They give off a vibe that is different than most concerts. It wasn’t like it was just another show to make money, it was like we were all at the same party all having fun together. During breaks between songs, they chatted with fans, play around on their guitars, sang parts of other songs, and the most daring of all, Drew jumped down into the crowd for a little while. The show I went to started earlier than expected, instead of just playing the songs on their set list, they added more songs, and kept with the time allotted. They gave us more, when they didn’t have to do that, which most bands would have not done.

Emblem3 loves their fans just as much as the fans love them. This tour is as much for the fans as it is for them. When the show was over the boys greeted their waiting fans by their bus, even though security was trying to rush them, they tried to hug and say hi to as many fans as they could.

Welcome back boys, we did miss you. You’ve shown us that not being happy doesn’t have to be an option. You’ve shown us that we should never let someone else have control over our lives, and to stick up for what we believe in and to rise above. Now go have fun on tour and show that you don’t need some big named record label controlling your music to continue to be a thriving band.

Namaste here with Emblem3!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
