We’re busy people. We go from place to place, from job to job, class to class, activity to activity. Rarely do things make us stop to look around. But there are special moments in life, the kind that make you realize you’ve got it made -- the “stop and smell the roses” kind of moments. They are moments of understanding, of thankfulness and of positivity. They are the moments we live to have.
“These are my people” moment.
Not defined by two people who originate from the same place or high school. This moment often occurs at 2 a.m. (a defining time, you are either shining bright or in the worst state) when you look beside you and realize you’re here for a reason and that reason is this person (she might be holding your hair back or wiping tears from your face or jumping up and down to the same song). She’s your “person,” if you will.
“I’ve found it” moment.
The one where you finally understand what you’re supposed to do in your future. We often have the tendency to settle for okay or “at least I'll be rich,” and I beg you to keep looking. To wait until you have the “this is it” moment. This is what I’m supposed to be doing.
“I belong here” moment.
It’s the perfect fit. The place, the people. This is where you are going to live out some of the most creative and lively moments. This is your space, your zone, your “wow, I could get used to this” moment.
“Fireworks in your stomach” moment.
The kind where you’re both thankful and happy and hopeful and content. The exact moment we search for and will continue to search for, for the rest of our lives. This is often the moment I thank my parents because I couldn’t have this moment without them. This is the moment that shoots you to the stars and lands you comfortably in the arms of the people who made it happen.
These are my top four moments. You can find more in things like “Wow, that’s my best friend,” “Holy cow, thank the big man I dodged that bullet,” “Go cats,”,“I’ve been waiting for this,” etc. What’s more important that these moments occurring, is that you take the time to notice them. Notice them. It’ll define you more than you think.

Gabs
