Spring time has officially come around and if you're in college you're preparing your playlists for finals and if you're not in college, you're preparing your beach, party and barbecue playlists. As someone who's constantly adding songs to his playlists, I figured I would share with you my favorite spots on the internet to find new music. There are many great places to find new music on the internet, but many of them don't share quality music. Most of the websites specialize in EDM; However, they aren't limited to just tracks that get dance floors going at clubs and festivals. They also share music that's fitting for less energetic settings.
1. Soundcloud
Soundcloud isn't one of the sites that I said shares primarily EDM music. Soundcloud is great because you can set up an account and use it as a sort of social media interface for music. You can follow your favorite artists and friends and see what they post and repost. When an account that you follow reposts a song, it shows up on your feed and you can listen to it right then and there. It's also nice because you can play a track and have it keep playing while you search for other music. Soundcloud also has an awesome mobile app that you can log into your account on and continue listening on the go.
2. Fresh New Tracks
Fresh New Tracks is one of the first music blogs I started to use to find new music and it's great because they share many different genres of music and all of it shows up in their main feed. As you can see in the image above, you can search only by genre if you want. They also have a chat section where you can chat with other users on the blog or the administrators of the blog.
3. This Song Is Sick
This blog is a little more established and complex than Fresh New Tracks. As you can see in the screenshot, they have a section for artists who premiere their songs on This Song Is Sick, events, news and contests. They also categorize the music that they share into two main categories; "banging" and "chill". This way, you can search for music based on your mood or the setting in which you are preparing a playlist for. You can also follow them on Twitter to get all of their news quickly on your Twitter feed in case you want to leave Twitter for This Song Is Sick.
4. Fist In The Air
I saved my favorite of these music websites for last. In my opinion, Fist In The Air is the best music blog out of all of the ones I previously listed. They are just as established as This Song Is Sick, but post a wider variety of music and organize it into more categories. They have different posts for days of the week and they post different kinds of music on those days.
So, go check out all of these sites and fill up your spring playlists with the some of the best music out there!
