1. Always Remember To Say "I Love You"

You can never tell the people you care about enough that you love them. Whenever you get the chance to tell them, do it. They should know every day how much you love and support them and how blessed you are to have them in your life.

2. Never Go To Bed Angry

Even though your sibling may have annoyed you to no end, always say your sorry and never EVER go to bed mad. You never know what tomorrow may hold, so stay positive and have a forgiving heart.

3. Old Music Is The Best Music

Although I may not know most of the rappers my fellow college students know, I do in fact know almost every hit song from the 70's and 80's. But my all time favorite artist of all time is Elvis. Thanks to my Dad playing his hits over and over again in the car since I was born. New artists may make some great music, but nothing compares to the old hits!

4. Never Stop Laughing

Life can get stressful and at times it may feel like you're too busy to stop and enjoy what's going on around you. Take a moment, sit back, and just be at the moment. When your Mom cracks the same old joke she does every month, just laugh with your whole heart. A good laugh is just what the doctor ordered!

5. Disney Is Always Relevant

You may never grow out of the phase in your life where you want to be a mermaid princess like Ariel, and that's okay! Keep that childlike wonder and love in your heart. You'll never get bored. Life will just get better and better as you get older if you keep your open minded, fun-loving, child-like attitude!

6. Never Give Up

You'll get to college, and you're most likely going to have this incredibly challenging class. You'll struggle the whole semester and by the end of it you'll contemplate if you major and college is even for you. You'll give a quick call to your mom and she will instantly cheer you up. She will tell you that you won't always be good at everything, and that okay. If you're passionate about it don't give up. Listen to her. You won't regret it.

7. Value Your Siblings

You may fight with your sibling every day. They may annoy you to no ends. They may never stop being a pain, but love them unconditionally. You have each other's back in a world where not everyone is going to be so nice to you. Your relationship with them may not always be ideal, but love them and work through it they're an amazing support system.

8. Be Kind

Be a joyful and positive person. Try the "pay it forward" method once and a while. It may just be a coffee, but it could make someone's day. Smile at strangers as you walk by. Spread happiness and love. Be the change.

Thank you for being such great teachers, and listeners Mom and Dad! I am so blessed to have such an amazing and loving support system! You both are so special, and I love you both endlessly!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
