One of the not so fun parts of growing up and moving away from home includes learning how to manage your money. As a self-professed shopaholic, this hasn't been the easiest of tasks for me. Every trip to the mall is a struggle between buying that new trendy top and keeping my wallet and bank account happy. Luckily, I've discovered a few awesome stores that allow me to indulge in some retail therapy without breaking the bank. Check out these five San Diego stores where you can find an entirely new outfit under 40 dollars.
1. Buffalo Exchange
Buffalo Exchange is a hip vintage and consignment store located in Pacific Beach. You can choose to sell your own clothes there or just shop around. They have awesome deals on everything from clothes to shoes and accessories. You can usually find designer brands marked down for a fraction of the price that they were originally sold for. One of my favorite Buffalo Exchange finds was a pair of Jeffery Campbell heels that I bought for only $27.
2. Heavenly Couture
Heavenly Couture is a boutique in La Jolla where everything is $16 or less. It is one of my favorite places to shop for fun summer rompers and shorts. They also have great basics like plain t-shirts and leggings for ridiculously cheap prices. They're located on Prospect street so you can check them out the next time you're brunching at Cody's or watching the sunset at the La Jolla Cove.
3. Boom Boom Brazil
Boom Boom Brazil is a small bikini store in Oceanside. They have adorable suits that mimic the look of Lolli Swimwear or Frankie's Bikinis but for about half the price. One of my biggest pet peeves is paying an insane amount for a bikini that is literally a piece of cloth held together by a tiny string. Boom Boom Brazil is the answer to every broke beachgoer's dilemma.
4. The Closet
The Closet has a few locations around San Diego. My favorite location that I've visited so far has been the store in Point Loma. A close second is the Pacific Beach store. I've found some awesome statement necklaces and sundresses here!
5. Forever 21
Before you judge, let me just say that Forever 21 has stepped up their game recently since I used to shop there in middle school. The Forever 21 store at Fashion Valley Mall is three stories full of clothes that are trendy enough to look like they could be from Nordstroms. My friends don't believe me when they ask where all of my new summer outfits are from and I tell them that I went kinda crazy at Forever 21 this summer. They've got super cute sunglasses this season, a huge selection of shoes, and a ton of blouses and crop tops perfect for going out or doing fun summer things in.
I love shopping, but I love shopping and getting great deals even more. Try out these five stores and I promise you'll get a fun new summer outfit for under 40 dollars... As long as you can just stop at one new outfit.
